Molinelli Winery
Presentation
The Molinelli Winery was founded in 1846 and successive generations of the family continued its tradition of fine wine production to today, in the capable hands of Luigi Molinelli. The vineyards belonging to our winery cover an extension of 31,5 acres, in the soft low-lying hills of the pre-Appennines at an average altitude of 200 metres a.s.l.Located in the western part of the Piacenza Province, just below the Po River in Northern Italy, the land is rich and fertile, characterized by a slightly clay and calcium earth so favourable to the production of grapes which are the basic element of our quality wines. All of our vines are trained following the guyot method and low trellising systems. In addition, the hand thinning of the vines, and natural growth of grass which is left in the vineyards all contribute to the strengthening of the vines and consequent production of grapes of high quality. The harvest is strictly manual, again to assure the quality of our products.
Since 2000 the Molinelli Winery has taken part in the Dupont Global Quality Control Project, which imposes strict production methods, periodic agronomy assistance and the use of instrumentation to determine the type and period of intervention on the vines, followed by detailed documentation of the operations performed and a final check of residues done by a laboratory authorized by the Agricultural Ministery. All of which to assure the quality of our products and to guarantee our clients of the genuineness of our wines.
In addition, the Molinelli Winery has received the ISO 9001:2000 quality certification.
Again, our clients are assured of not only a quality product, but a healthy one, and one which can be traced to its origins. We believe our clients deserve this type of guarantee. Our winery is dedicated to following our local culture, respecting the environment, and offering quality wines which reflect our centuries old tradition.
